Description

Vintage 1991 Manco Go Kart Cart Two Seater 5 HP Torque Conv Original Paperwork. Condition is "Used".
Pick-Up Only in Lakewood, CA 90713.
Feel free to save me as a Seller. It's taken me a while to finally decide to sell my personal items.
Much more things in the ‘ol garage to sell. Old mini bikes minibikes motorcycle parts go-carts go-karts and comic books (comics from mid-late 70's, 1980's and 1990's).
Ok, as promised here I have listed another awesome old school item: My two seater Manco Go-Kart, yes I am the original owner. It was a birthday gift to myself (the best kind), paperwork shows November 1991 pick up from shipping company_ABF dock. Shipped from Indiana to Southern California. I say it is 94% original. The kill switch was replaced, lost some screws to connect roll-cage (yet will give you a few that I have & you can buy more at local hardware store), and the arm rest pads have worn out (only one left without cover. Features:
>This is the upgraded Model 485 when purchased in 1991 - I added: 1) Torque Converter with drive belt and 35 chain to live axle sprocket, 2) Larger 6" Back tires, and 3) Rear Live Axle.
-Again delivered upgraded from day one.
>Provenance: Comes with original paperwork as shown in picture; The Manco Machines "FUN-KART" Operator's Manual, Repair Parts single page mailer that was mailed to me in May of 2002 from Manco, Operator's Manual SUPPLEMENT (this may have been mailed to me or included in original giant box, Single page listing information about the handhold/seat assembly, and the faded green/teal colored Freight pick-up shipping list dated 11/26/91.
>Comes with original 3 piece roll-cage bars -see picture. Noticeable paint scrapes on bottom of two side rails. I believe I used the rails the first two years then removed them and kept them in the garage. I lost the original bolts/nuts yet I will give you a few new ones to have some to take to your local hardware to get the ideal size bolts/nuts.
>Overall metal is solid yet has noticeable rust.
>Original Tires: and everything else you see including original 5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, had the diaphragm changed by a certified small engine mechanic 6 months ago (this part costs less than and I recommend you change out every year).
>Has noticeable rust for its age and I have one photo where I am pointing to some bubbled paint and noticeable rust on front frame and along inside rails near metal floor board. Has scrapes under carriage from the road since it sits low to the ground. Has rust on rims and I'm sure in places I cannot see. Would be awesome for someone to partially restore and clean out rust or keep rustic original look and tend to essential parts.
>Engine Starts right up, has original carburetor with choke and recently installed spark plus. No oil leaks on engine yet the engine has a slight build up of old oil on lower part of engine. I would recommend changing the oil gasket. I was big on changing out oil frequently and would clean out and re-use air filter.
>Has original drum break system and I will include an NOS (new outer drum break) that I purchased yet never used.
>Kill switch works, tires are original. Has subtle power because of the Torque Convertor mechanism and goes fast. I have never clocked the speed yet I would guess up to 35-40?  Must compensate when turning (meaning judge curves) since you have a live axle. To those who have driven a live-axle vehicle knows what I mean.
>Torque Converter is original and will include a new Torque Converter belt that I purchased yet never used
>This Two-seater was really made for an adult since the gas pedal is far away. There is a "hand-hold" in the middle of the seat for a passenger to hold on to with left hand and can hold on to the arm rest with the right arm for safety and stability. I recommend the use of a helmet at all times.
>Most of all a ton of fun and I really hope someone buys who loves mostly original, who has parts to keep it running, and plans to use it as intended.
>Beings sold As-Is with no returns. I have done my best to list pros & cons and I am glad to answer questions via the messenger.
>Serious buyers only. I ask that the winner pay within 2 days of auction end and to pick up within 5 days.
