    Description

    The oldest extant species known is the tadpole shrimp, Triops cancriformis, a small freshwater crustacean found in temporary pools in arid regions of Eurasia and north Africa that is indistinguishable from 180-million-year-old fossils bearing the same name.
    Also one of the largest triops They can grow to 2 inches easily with some individuals growing up to 3 inches.
