Over 2000 Sold to Happy Customers
One of my customers tells me this alarm
is compatible with Honeywell and Titan XT
Security Alarms when connected to the HW1
terminals. However this is hearsay, so if
using with these alarms, you need to verify
that your HW1 terminals on these alarms
provides a 6 to 12 Volt DC Voltage.
Recommended Operating Voltage is
12 to 15 Volts DC for Maximum Sound
Operates at 6V & 9V (at Reduced Volume)
Rated: 110ma @ 12V
Warble Definition:
Similar to a Siren, the pitch of the sound
rises and falls linearly in a repeating
pattern. Although this is also called a
mini siren, the sound it produces is not
similar to that of a police siren and
cannot be mistaken for such.
Note:
Sound Volume Output Depends On Supply
Voltage as described below. This is True
of All Alarms Made and is governed by the
laws of physics.
This is the ABSOLUTE BEST Mini-Alarm I've
Found. Most alarms are made in China where
quality is not even an afterthought. Compared
to all the others I've tested, this one is
"THE BEST" and "Most Reliable". I'm
qualified to judge the reliability of
these because I've sold over 2000 units
and never had a defective unit returned or
had a customer receive a defective unit.
Of course, I do test all alarms before I
ship them.
Be careful who you buy from. Many eBay
sellers are selling Chinese Lookalikes
of these that are neither as Loud, or as
Reliable.
If you're depending on this alarm for
Personal Safety or Home Security,
Reliability is Very Important. So Get the
Best! Don't take a chance on the cheap
knock-offs being sold by others. With all
the Chinese made alarms I've tested, there
is wide variation in sound output, which
means most of them failed miserably to
produce their advertised amount of sound.
For Getting the Maximum Sound Out Of This
Alarm, You'll Need a Good 12V DC Power
Adapter or Battery. You can run this alarm
at lower voltages, such as 9 Volts or even
6 volts, but it won't be as loud. The
amount of sound output is directly related
to the applied voltage. That's just the
Laws of Physics and it applies to every
other alarm that's made as well. By the
way, I can also sell you the perfect 12V
Power Adapter so you can be sure you're
getting the maximum sound this alarm can
produce (and I'll combine shipping). Just
contact me after your purchase and tell me
you wish to purchase the 12V Power Adapter
as well. I'll make the arrangements.
This is just a Sounder and requires a
connection to a voltage source. It does
not have a built-in triggering mechanism
or automatic shut-off. Also, be aware that
mini alarms are intended for indoor use
and neither I or the manufacturer make any
claims regarding suitability or reliability
when the alarm is used in outdoor
environments. I have had several customers
buy these for use on their cars and
motorcycles and had no complaints. But
using these on vehicles and in other
outdoor environments is totally at your
own risk as the manufacturer has not
neither tested or approved these for use
in those environments.
If Shopping for a "Top Quality" Alarm,
it's important that you take time to read
the next paragraph below.
Proven Quality and Reliability, Let me
Explain how I know: I have purchased a lot
of different piezo alarms to sell on eBay
while seeking a unit that is loud, reliable,
and consistent in quality and performance.
As you probably suspect, most other piezo
alarms are made in China where quality
control isn't even an afterthought. But
these alarms are different. They are made
in Taiwan and the quality is Top-Notch.
All the other Chinese made alarms
I tried had at least a 5% Failure Rate;
and the performance of most of those was
poor to mediocre at best, with a majority
of them failing miserably to produce the
advertised sound intensity. The quality
of most the other alarms we tested
also left a great deal to be desired, with
some even having loose parts inside that
rattled, and/or other imperfections in the
case and assembly.
I'm happy to say this alarm I'm offering
today is the clear winner from all I tested.
This Alarm Meets all my requirements
for Quality and Performance. I'm proud to
offer this Quality Alarm to my eBay
customers!
This alarm can be used in your own home
projects when used with sensor switches or
controls that connect it to a 6 to 15 volt
external power supply ...or... It can also
be added to existing security systems that
provide 6 to 15 Volt connections for
additional alarms. In such cases, if the
existing alarm system provides a Voltage
output for additional alarms, just connect
it observing the proper polarity. If the
existing alarm system just provides a
relay contact closure, you will need to
add a 12 volt power supply in series with
this alarm when making the connection
(observing proper polarities, of course).
Note: This alarm is not compatible with
alarm systems that generate their own
alarm signal and provide an audio output
connection for additional speakers or
horns.
It produces a Very Loud, Medium-Slow
Warbling type sound, and it only draws
about 110ma at 12 Volts. The unit I tested
even ran on as little as 6 Volts at a
somewhat reduced volume level. I don't
know if all units will perform at voltages
this low or not, but I will be happy to
test a unit for you at what ever voltage
you request. Just send me an email before
you buy specifying the voltage you would
like me to test the device at.
Please Note:
The maximum advertised sound level will
only be produced when powered by a 12V
source. Using lower operating voltages
will result in lower sound levels being
produced. This is true of all piezo
alarms, not just this one.
Usage Considerations:
Since this is a Mini Alarm having Low
Power Requirements and a Small Diaphragm,
this alarm may not be suitable for outdoor
use where a large coverage area is desired
or the sound needs to carry great
distances.
