Based on Brian Garfield's 1975 novel, about CIA agent Miles Kendig (Matthau), who decides to retire, and to ensure his privacy threatens to send his memoirs to the world's intelligence agencies. When the CIA disregards his threat, he writes and mail chapters one-by-one. To avoid compromising their operations, two CIA agents (Waterston and Beatty) set out to silence Kendig, by any means.
Shot on location in Georgia, England, Germany, and Austria.
