    Description

    Here we have an Pre - Columbian Mississippian Pottery Vessel Jug With Figural Bird Effigy. The tail of the bird is the handle. This is a fantastic looking Pre Columbian Bird Pottery Jar vessel. It is  a bird feeding it's young and appears to be a Mississippi Culture piece over 700 years old. There It has wear from age and use but overall is a spectacular piece and measures approximately 8-1/2" tall x 6-1/2" across. Please see all photos they are a very important part of the description.
    Also when I purchased this vase it came with references from the book "Aboriginal Pottery of the Eastern US" by W.H. Holmes.  Pages 81, 85 and 88.  I will include this information with the vase.
