Native American Indian Northwest Turtle Effigy Grease or other Carved Wood Bowl. This is a wonderful carved wooden bowl I believe from somewhere in the Northwest just based on what I learned when I acquired it. It came from a parental estate, and their son mentioned the parents had a large collection of antiques, went to antique stores and travelled in the Northwest but also around the US. He mentioned his father collected Cherokee among others but I’m not sure if this fits with that, but I’m not an expert. It has a couple small worm holes in the bottom one of which it appears on one, someone but a little white grainy substance in it. This might be loosened out with a Q-tip or something similar bit I’ve made no effort and have not cleaned the piece or done anything to this other than dusting it. You can see the normal surface wear, small scratches and a small crack that doesn’t really impact its overall look.
