    Description

    Color & Size
: These mystery snails are the "wild type" color variation, which means that their shells are multiple shades of brown/chestnut with black stripes, which are especially noticeable under bright aquarium lights. They are juveniles and will be 3/4" to 1" when shipped. If you'd like a younger snail, message me! I can ship snails as small as pea-size.
    Breeding & Behavior
: These little guys are the offspring of my beloved Ms. Steve (Wild Type) and Mr. Sven (Blue), so they contain recessive blue, ivory, or golden genes. Like their parents, these "Stevelings" are very active and inquisitive; you'll see them happily scooting around the tank (or your hand!). Though you may certainly get just one snail, they are social and do well in pairs or small groups.
    Feeding
: Mystery snails feed on algae in the tank, but you should also supplement with foods like sinking algae pellets and fresh veggies. I've raised them on algae wafers, Shrimp King Complete pellets (yes, lots of shrimp products are excellent for snails as well!), and fresh veggies including cucumber and broccoli.
    Minimum Tank Size
    : 5 gallons
    Water Parameters
    : 68-82 F /// 7.5-8.5 pH
    Tips
: I add Aqueon Shrimp Essentials to the tank to make sure the snails have plenty of calcium and other vital minerals. I also love to use "shrimp rocks," which are basically mineral rocks that the snails can nibble at for calcium. Calcium is especially important for Mystery Snails as they grow because their shell grows with them and is made up of mostly calcium!
