Description

Adding one of our five-layer HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Absorbing) filters to your home-made face-mask will provide protection far exceeding any other home-made assembly. All our filters are made using 4” x 5” (+ - .250”) media sectioned from commercially available HEPA vacuum bags. These sections are handmade and stapled together with two staples on each perimeter side. All the commercially available HEPA bags used for these filters have five layers of non-woven fabric manufactured by a process known as Melt-Blown and contain NO FIBERGLASS. Our filters can be trimmed to fit almost any home-made mask filter insert area. We recommend our filters be sandwiched between two layers of cotton or existing mask fabric.
Because the HEPA filter is an electrostatic non-woven polypropylene fiber, it is not washable. For usage information we suggest visiting the CDC website and review “
Recommended Guidance for Extended Use and Limited Reuse” of face masks at:

·
The mask should only be worn and/or reused by a single wearer.
·
Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
·
Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.
·
Avoid touching the outside of the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
·
To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
·
Workers in other industries routinely use respirators for many hours uninterrupted. Experience in these settings indicates that respirators can function within their design specifications for 8 hours of continuous or intermittent use.
·
When not in use, Store the mask in a breathable container, such as a paper bag, in a dry location. The bag(s) should be labeled with the user’s name.
