This banded slate Woodland fan tailed birdstone was found in Tippecanoe Co, Indiana and measures 3.25 inches long and is 1.75 inches wide across the tail of the piece. This piece is made from banded slate and is really a well made example. This piece was found with the head broken off before it was found. Unfortunately, a previous owner broke the piece when it was put in a frame and to much pressure was put on the tail breaking it again. The piece has been glued back together and has a few small pieces glued in at the break and a small piece restored on the upper corner of the tail. This piece has the Townsend catalog number of T-5252 on the bottom of the piece. This birdstone is guaranteed to be 100% authentic with small area of restoration, and broken and glued.
