Since these are so small there is no way to count them. Most cannot be seen naturally with your eyes without the aid of some contraption such as a microscope, magnifying glass or loupe.
This is one of four species of freshwater copepods in the US. These guys are hardy and can survive the harshest conditions. They are great for use as feeders, cleaners and algae control. I have them in fresh and brackish water.
These guys propagate like wildfire and can even survive the digestive system of most fish by a 27% margin.
Great also for science experiments and educational purposes for kids or food for your fish.
