    Description

This lot offers a genuine flint arrowhead used by Texas Native Americans in the Middle Archaic period, c.2,650 - 2050 B.C. I found this near Fredericksburg at the Pedernales river in Gillespie County, Texas about 20 years ago. It is made from rather deep caramel-colored agate-like chert or flint, features sharp edges but missing the point. Maybe this was lost due to hunting in the area long ago? It measures 35 mm in length (1 3/8 inches) x 20 mm wide (3/4 inch) and weighs 5.2 grams. According to the
Texas Monthly Field Guide to Stone Artifacts,
this might be a Travis point, but I am not an expert on identification. Guaranteed to be an authentic ancient artifact.
The artifact pictured is the actual one you will receive. Please examine the pictures closely and feel
