Black King Kong were introduced around 2008, at the time the market price was 0 per shrimp. BKKs are black, white, and sometimes blue. BKK have many patterns and some of the most popular pattern is panda and one stripe.
Black King Kong are one of the three classic Taiwan Bees available on the market. When a Black King Kong is bred with Blue bolts, you are able to get shadow bkk. Unlike the Neocaridinas and some Caridinas, Black King Kong can be kept with Red King Kong and Blue Bolt without the risk of creating hybrids.
These are great for people who kept shrimps and are looking into something different and a little more challenging. A general rule of thumb of keeping shrimps is 10 shrimps per gallon. Black King Kong are non-aggressive and spend most of their time eating algae and biofilm off plants, glass, and substrate.
Black King Kong are easy to care for as they require remineralized RO water. When using fertilizer, make sure it does not contain copper as it is harmful to the shrimp’s health.
The shrimps you will receive will be juvies to sub adults which translate to 0.47 to 0.60 inches (1.2cm to 1.5cm).
