Lohena are another Shrimp species that live naturally with Opae ula in anchialine ponds. They are a lot larger then Opae Ula and range from 1/2-1 inch in size. which is about 2-3 times the size of Normal Opae Ula. They have distinct line pattern on there tails large claws. They are a lot more rare than Opae Ula and prefer to have more space.

Opae Ula  scientific name Metabetaeus Lohena, also known as Hawaiian Shrimp, Anchialine Shrimp, Snapping Shrimp, and many other names, are an endemic shrimp found in brackish water ponds.
Where do these shrimp live?

The natural habitat of these critters is in the Hawaiian Islands, which makes them endemic. They are found in anchialine ponds primarily on the Big Island, Maui, as well as O’ahu.
How big do these shrimp get?

The Alpha Opae Ula is 2 to 3 times the size of the Opae Ula. These are around 1+ inch or so.
What do I feed my shrimp?

Alpha Opae Ula are
opportunistic omnivores that will eat a wide range of foods including algae, aquatic plants, insects, bacteria, molt shells, fish, meat, or vegetable matter.
Can I use any kind of water?
Alpha Opae Ula need a special salt mixture of water to survive. The water in your aquarium should never be changed. To compensate for water loss due to evaporation, simply add distilled or bottled water.
Where do I place my aquarium?
Keep your shrimp aquarium away from direct sunlight. A location in your home that is away from direct sunlight and a source of heat or cold (such as air-conditioning) is best.

Two clear photos of the DOA livestock in unopened shipping bag are required to receive credit. These images must be received within 1 hour of package delivery.
If temperatures are below 60 degrees or above 80 degrees proof of DOA must be provided upon delivery. This is to guaranty that package was not left out in the extremes.
Shrimp are not guaranteed past arrival. Opening the shipping bags ends the 'arrival' period and, without photographs, indicates that the fish are acceptable in the condition they arrived.
DOA credits are redeemable for the same species of fish on the next order as available.
No refunds will be issued for DOA livestock.
