Description

This Umarex Panther RO-72 air pistol is an original found item identical to those used
to make the DL-18 blaster props
for Return of the Jedi. These hand props were used by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), as well as numerous Jabba's palace guards and skiff guards. The DL-18 model blaster was also used heavily by Kanan Jarrus in the animated show Rebels. The blaster was the most important new blaster prop fashioned for Return of the Jedi's production. This air pistol found item is much rarer than many other found items used to make lightsabers or blasters in the Original Trilogy such as the Graflex 3-cell flash. There has never been a licensed reproduction of the DL-18, which is surprising due to its use by 3 principal actors and numerous closeups on screen. This example of the original air pistol is ripe for conversion to a screen-accurate prop as seen in the film or kept as a historical, unmodified piece. Umarex is a German company and the air pistol itself was made in Italy. It has been tested and the firing mechanism still works. It is in near mint condition and has been stored in its original shipping box since manufacture. It is missing one small screw on the side panel which could be easily replaced. Due to shipping restrictions and eBay policy, this item is only available for sale in the United States and cannot be shipped overseas. Thanks for looking!
