Often times they will arrive dormant or hibernatingand many people mistake them  for being dead. Just run under water for a few seconds or lightly mist with a spray bottle and they will wake up. They hibernate often for several months at a time, which is completely normal. Just don’t let snails dry up and dehydrate which can cause them to die.
DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE RELEASED INTO YHE WILD NOR ALLOW THWM TO GO OUTSIDE, as they are sold AS PETS and should be kept safely indoors in a proper aquarium or box that is securely lidded so they are unable to escape.
They can become pests in many agricultural regions and need to only be kept as PETS -in a secure, safe atmosphere. One that will not allow them to be released in non-native areas. As they are dangerous to vegetation or gardens etc. and can cause destruction to agricultural areas.
