    Description

This auction is for 5 Orange Eye Black Devil Shrimp (Caridina cantonensis), Mixed Grade. Pictures above are from my stock. Photos have not been edited and are lit with Nicrew LED Lights: what you see is what you'll get. The shrimp you receive will be un-sexed juvenile/young adult-aged, approx. 1/4" - 1/2" in length.
These shrimp are USA-bred over many generations. I do not sell imported shrimp.
Orange Eye Black Devil shrimp were originally derived by crossing Black King King shrimp with Orange Eye Tiger shrimp.
The result are these beautiful deep blue/black shrimp, of which you will receive 5 scooped at random. The shrimp you will receive are Mixed Grade, meaning that they will have clear patches and stripes of blue on their shells.
Remember that shipping is stressful for shrimp, and some may arrive with slightly faded shells. Full color should return within 24 hours in their new home!

    FAQ
Why do you only ship juvenile shrimp?
    - Generally, younger shrimp have much higher survival rates in stressful situations (shipping.) I also ship before the shrimp are large enough to accurately sex, ensuring that there is no bias in male vs female.
When will my shrimp arrive? Ebay says it may take 2 weeks or more!
    - I ship every Monday and Tuesday afternoon, and orders typically arrive in 2-3 days. Orders placed after 3PM EST Tuesday will ship on the following Monday. Do not trust Ebay's shipping estimate! Please keep an eye on your tracking information!
It's very hot where I live, should I order shrimp?
    - If the average daily high temperature in your area is above 85-90 F, I would not suggest having shrimp shipped to you. Cold packs will be included with orders to warmer areas, but they are only effective for a finite amount of time.
Can I just keep these shrimp in de-chlorinated tap water?
    - It depends on the quality of your local water, but probably not. To achieve the parameters needed for these shrimp to thrive you will need to use distilled or reverse-osmosis water plus a remineralizer. (I use Salty Shrimp GH+.)
    Should my tank be cycled?
    - Yes! Shrimp have a low bio-load themselves, but always do better in a well-established tank. They graze all day, and need a lot of algae and biofilm to thrive.
Can I keep my shrimp with fish?
    - You can, but I do not recommend it. Anything that can fit into a fish's mouth is in danger of being eaten.
How should I acclimate my shrimp?
    - There are many methods, but this is how I acclimate new shrimp: Pour contents of bag into a bowl. Remove and discard about half of the bag water. Add 2oz of tank water to the bowl every 5 minutes over a period of 30 minutes. Pour bowl into tank.
What do you feed to your shrimp?
    - Shrimp King Complete, Shirakura Chi Ebi, Hikari Crab Cuisine, and Indian Almond Leaves.
    Why buy from Sokyshrimp?
    - SOKY Shrimp was established in 2015, breeding and selling shrimp from a single 10 gallon aquarium. Since then, my capacity has increased to 20 tanks, but all shrimp are still USA-bred with a focus on health and quality. All shrimp that I sell have been in my care over many generations and are disease/parasite/etc-free, no imports! Many of my colonies are 5+ years old and still thriving!
