So cute! I have blue, purple, magenta, ivory, jade, golden, and chestnut mystery snails. Colors will vary based on current availability, and I try to include a variety in each order. I cannot accommodate specific color/quantity requests. Buy more, save more - up to 20% off!
- You will receive juvenile snails between 1/4 -3/4" in size (this is an estimated average, not exact specification). Mystery snails may grow up to 2-3 inches in diameter.
- Pictures are representative of my actual snails. They are not filtered or stock photos. They are real examples, but not the exact snails you'll receive.
- My snails are pets, living in my aquariums with tropical fish and live plants with clean water and high quality diets. They are not housed in a crowded breeder tank.
LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE
I only ship on MONDAYS to ensure animals do not get stuck in transit over a weekend. I use USPS Priority Mail for the same reason. **Please do not be confused by the eBay-generated handling time and ship date, which is automatic - your order will ship on the first possible Monday after your purchase. **
Although I cannot control how USPS handles the package, your snails will be packed with care and attention to ensure they are appropriately protected during shipping.
Please check your weather forecast before ordering. This is the responsibility of the BUYER. Live arrival guarantee is void when local temperatures along the shipping route are below 30F or above 90F.
I include +2 snails FREE to cover any DOA.
This means if you order 5, you will get at least 7, and at least 5 are guaranteed alive. There are no refunds for extra/free snails.
Please see below to learn more about expected snail behavior and DOA claims.
Please allow 2 days for handling. This means if you order on Sunday or Monday, your order may go out the following week (not the next day or same day as your order).
CUTE CLEAN-UP CREW
Mystery Snails are very attractive and fun to watch. They add color, life, and decoration to your aquarium. They are also well known for very useful purposes as “clean up crew”. They clean algae off of glass, plants, and decorations, keeping your tank clean and potentially reducing the need for maintenance. While they are effective algae-eaters and will eat dead and decaying plants, they do not eat live plants if they have sufficient food.
CARE AND RECOMMENDED PARAMETERS:
pH level range: 7.0 and up
Temperature range: 60° - 80° F (16° - 27° C) - they can thrive in this range, but lifespan is shorter in warmer water, as it speeds their metabolism
Nitrates: below 20ppm
Water hardness: 8-15 dKH
Ensure sufficient calcium for shell growth and development
Recommended tank mates: Other types of snails (Nerite snails, Ramshorn Snails etc), shrimp, and small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish.
Diet: Mystery Snails eat algae and waste, but this should not be their entire diet. They will enjoy a varied diet of high quality fish food flakes or granules and algae wafers.
Snails, like all invertebrates, are very sensitive to copper and some other substances. Read the labels of any water additives or treatments before adding to your tank, to ensure they are safe for your snails.
ACCLIMATION
It's highly recommended to acclimate your new snails to the temperature of your aquarium before introducing them to the water.
SHIPPING
- Snails are well-packaged inside a deli cup with a wet paper towel and punctured hole for air.
- Snails breathe air, which is why they are not shipped in water.
- The cup is then protected and placed inside a shipping box.
- Shipping always includes tracking information. Please be ready for your delivery and open your package promptly. Do not allow snails to sit outside especially in very hot or very cold weather. You must contact me within 2 hours of delivery for any DOA claim.
DOA CLAIMS
It’s not uncommon for snails to be lethargic after transit. Don’t be alarmed if they don’t move for the first day or two. Also, snails sometimes float in the water. This also is not cause for concern.
Your snails are most likely not dead, unless their bodies are hanging limply out of their shells, are unresponsive to gentle touch, and they smell rotten. If you’re not sure if they stink, they don’t - it’s unmistakable!
If you believe your snails are DOA, message me within 2 hours of the USPS delivery time stamp, and send a 15 second video showing their bodies hanging out of the shell, and showing they don’t move or retract if you touch their bodies. Guarantee is void if the 1st delivery attempt is unsuccessful.
DOA refunds cover the cost of the snails only; shipping costs are non-refundable. In calculating the cost per snail on orders with free shipping, I deduct for cost of postage from the order total, then divide by the number of snails purchased (not including extra/free snails).
NO RETURNS
As you’ll find with virtually all online sellers of live animals, I cannot accept returns. Please do not send any animals back, even if DOA.

Please, if your experience was anything less than positive, always contact me BEFORE leaving feedback. I am a hobbyist and all listings are represented, sold, and shipped with the best good faith intentions. If anything goes wrong, I really do want to know about it, and I’ll do my best to resolve any issues.
QUESTIONS
Please ask before you buy if you have questions. I'm happy to answer, and want you to be happy with your purchase. Thank you!
IMPORTANT NOTE
As the buyer, it is YOUR responsibility to know your local laws regarding which plants and invertebrates are legal, and which are considered invasive in your state. Please follow your state department of agriculture rules and recommendations; do not order items prohibited in your state.
