Description
Set of 5+1 Purple Juvenile Mystery Snails (Pomacea bridgesii)approximately pea-sized to dime-sized
These snails grow very quickly, I would expect them to be full-grown in approximately 4-6 weeks, and producing egg clutches in approximately 6-8 weeks from delivery.
Females grow up to 2 inches (5cm) and the males stay a little smaller.
Mystery snails are considered plant-safe, and only eat dead plant material. However, they do seem to eventually destroy Susswassertang, at least in my experience.
Mystery snails are great at eating algae, biofilm, and dead fish, and they also eat sinking pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables such as zucchini, kale, spinach, cucumber, or green beans.
Recommended Water Parameters:
pH range: 7.2 to 8.4 (alkaline)
Temperature range: 68° to 84° F
kH 12-18
gH 8-18 (Mystery snails like hard water)
Have some crushed coral, oyster shells, egg shells, or cuttlebone available to chew on as a calcium supplement
Min tank size is typically one gallon per adult snail
I will ship from Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. If your region is too hot for delivery I may refund the sale immediately at my discretion.
Snails ship in an insulated container. These snails will handle hot weather up to the mid 90's F or 35C, please do not order if your weather exceeds 95F or 35C.
NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING!
NO RETURNS!
I will guarantee live arrival for up to 30 minutes after delivery. If you can't get your snails out of the mailbox within 30 minutes of delivery, please arrange to have your package held at the post office or have a neighbor get it out of the mailbox.
Mailboxes in the sun can easily reach 150F / 65C or more inside so I can only guarantee 30 minutes of exposure to temperatures in that range.
You must take photos of dead snails in the first 30 minutes of delivery for a refund (shipping excluded).
The snails may just lay on the bottom of the tank and hide in their shells for 8-12 hours before they start roaming around a new tank.
Do not drop hot snails from the mailbox directly into cold water, drip acclimation is recommended.
