    Crescentic Knife made of a mottled light to dark brown, cream, and gray colored chert. This specimen measures approx. 3 9/16” x 1 1/8” x 5/16” and has bifacial primary percussion followed by a couple of stages of pressure flaking resulting in an asymmetrical crescent form. The stone is extremely well patinated with abundant alkali caliche mineral deposits while condition is near mint with typical ancient use wear, G8+ Quality. Type resembles Great Basin Paleo Crescents or early archaic Wildcat Canyon type of knives found on the Columbia River Plateau. Was reportedly found on private property located in Northern California, x Jeff Joseph Collection.
