Description
3336-2021)Archaic Knife made of white, gray, brown, cream, and clear color agatized petrified palm wood. This specimen measures approx. 3 ¾” x 1 3/8” x ½” and has bifacial random percussion followed by direct pressure flaking. This stone has excellent cell preservation of the petrified wood and retains grains that cleave similar to the parent tree it originated from, therefore has some stacking and knotting on each face. The lateral edge near the basal margin has an ancient shear so overall G3-4 Quality. This all being said, it is extremely well patinated and mineralized and is large in size. We acquired this from the finder’s family as a surface find on private property located in Polk County, Texas.
