    Description

This listing is for 2000 live freshwater Mississippi Grass Shrimp (Palaemonetes kadiakensis) for pond stocking.
Pk shrimp are the only truly freshwater ghost shrimp species that is cold hardy enough to be stocked throughout the majority of the country (see native range map in pictures).  Native range goes all the way up to southern Lake Erie and Minnesota. All other grass shrimp and ghost shrimp species are either brackish water species or not sufficiently cold hardy.  These make excellent forage food for game fish.  On multiple occasions I have seen panfish ignoring worms, crickets, and minnows completely, and the one person fishing with grass shrimp was catching fish.
I catch these shrimp from my pond in north Louisiana, 35 miles from the Arkansas border, by the order, so they are not starving or stressing for months before-hand in a holding tank.  In place of shipping, I am willing to meet you for delivery pickup within 2 hours distance from my selling location.
