Description
3338-2021)Great Basin Windust / Cody Complex Transitional Knife made of black to dark gray tinted obsidian with trace flow banding. This fine specimen measures approx. 2 11/16” x 1 5/16” x 5/16” and has superb bifacial collateral pressure flaking resulting in a thin lenticular cross section. The edge work is even and the stem has longitudinal thinning plus moderate edge grinding. Overall has wonderful patinated onion skin patina with alkali mineral deposits. Condition is excellent with typical ancient use wear while quality is G8-9. Was reportedly found on private property and comes with a Dwain Rogers and Ben Stermer COA, x George Vanworren Collection.
