1964 Volkswagen Bug
I’m selling my 1964 VW Bug. I bought it last year and I like it a lot but I’ve only driven it a handful of times so it’s time to let someone else enjoy it. The car is very straight, solid and has no rust anywhere. It has been repainted once (as near as I can tell) in the original L469 Anthracite grey. It’s had some spots touched up here and there as well. It has some dings and scratches here and there are holes drilled in the doors for mirrors but overall it’s a very nice little car.
It’s been lowered in front with a 2” narrowed adjustable beam and 2.5” lowered spindles. The rear has been lowered one spline. It has KYB shocks all around and Nankang tires (145r15 front and 165/80r15 rear).
I installed a new headliner, door panels, carpet, steering wheel and seat belts. The seats aren’t perfect but they’re pretty nice.
The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts. The lights, wipers, etc all work well.
The engine is a 1200cc 40 horsepower unit. It’s not the fastest thing on wheels but it will keep up with traffic. I think it could use a little tuning but it runs well. It doesn’t have any major fluid leaks but will leave some spots here and there from the engine and transmission like most old VW’s.
The car is far from perfect but it’s a fun little cruiser and turns a lot of heads. The roof rack, cooler and suitcases are included with the car. Please feel free to ask any questions.
