- Added 5 gallons 93 octane and 1/4 ox Stabil marine. - 7/29/22
- Brakes were flushed and read drum shoes precisely adjusted at 2950 miles. Filled with Pentosin Super DOT4 brake fluid. - 7/27/22
-Adjusted the suspension to raise the front 2 inches.
-Installed a oil overheat sensor that is mechanical set at 250 degrees then it will make dash light solid red..
-Installed a cylinder head temp thermocouple sensor with digital gauge. I mounted it on the trans tunnel so you cant see it easily and it does not detract from the clean nostalgia look of the vehicle. It will flash red and beep if cylinder head temp reaches 390 degrees. (350- 400 degrees under load is the max a head should see) Tests show head only hits 280 degrees at cylinder heads sitting still at a light.
- Jetting set just a little on rich side to keep engine cool and address teh call for a little more advanced timing of the cam need. 24 degrees from TDC advanced at ~900 RPM. All in will mechanically advance 29 degrees at ~2900 RPM.
- Shifts nice for a 4 speed dog box transmission. ;-) It's a newer 12V tranny and is smooth running and geared right for the engine. The axles are super clean - new boots, new clamps , bolts - you can tell its fresh.
- You can see all new brake lines, new master cylinder, etc.
- NEW A/C unit kit in box from Gilmore Enterprises of Las Vegas , NV. They are experts with top notch equipment for Bugs.
- Installed new lower exhaust tins and engine seal. Engine has NOT been over heated - still a tight engine since odomoter was zeroed at rebuild time.
- Installed new carpet and wiring cover in front trunk area.
- Adjusted the parking brake and fixed the handle as it was pulled too far causing cats pay to lose grip on gear tooth.
This car is amazing and drives better than new
