Mystery snails make a helpful addition to any freshwater aquarium because of their peaceful temperament,  and expertise at cleaning algae. They are fantastic tank cleaners and sought after for their ability to keep tanks algae free & eat decaying dead plant matter. Superb little aquarium cleaners.
The snails shipped will be pea to nickel sized BABY snails.
They are renowned for eating detritus and they do help decrease tank maintenance. Our snails are kept in a planted tank with anubias, java fern, java moss, anubias nana petite and fox fern.  We provide wondershell for a calcium supplement.They are reputed to eat more fragile plants & I have seen them devour hornwort. Please check to see if you plants are mystery snail resistant if you have a planted aquarium.
Hard water and calcium supplementation will help promote strong healthy shells. Crushed coral, cuddle bones and food high in calcium are all recommended. Mystery snails will eat a variety of foods including homemade snello, algae wafers, invertebrate pellets, cucumbers and blanched vegetables (kale, spinach, & zucchini).
All Mystery snails will arrive without water and need to be acclimated to their new aquarium right away. Due to stress of shipping and change of environment it is normal for them to take a day or two to peak out of their shells.
Please place snails in the aquarium with their foot facing down and shell up to ease the stress of acclimation

Dead snails body with hang limply from their shell, reak of a foul odor, have empty shells and/or float in aquarium. We recommend putting no more than 1 snail per 2 gallons. Overcrowding will cause stress to snails resulting in inactive snails and ultimately death.

RETURN POLICY
If you receive anything but a healthy snail, take 2 or 3 pictures in its unopened sealed container and get in contact with us within 4 hours of the arrival of the package. We will get back to you after we've successfully examined the snail. If the snail is indeed dead, we will gladly send you a replacement or we'll refund you if the item is no longer in stock.
Please expect snails to be inactive upon arrival.

When snails are shipped they become very stressed and their method of defense is to retrieve their bodies into the shell. Put them in your aquarium and wait a couple of hours to days. They should adjust and start working right away!
(If a snail dies during shipping, its body will hang out the shell)
