Marbled crayfish are the only known decapod crustaceans to reproduce only by being clones (parthenogenesis), each is a copy of its mother, each daughter will eventually produce a clutch of eggs. Eggs can be expected from two to 4 months of age. Why is there a disparity in that age to create eggs (a brood)? environmental conditions, temperature, oxygen levels, food quality, lighting.The creature is listed as a beginner category as they will endure a wide range of water conditions. I personally recommend a heater, temperature reading device, a fair quality light, and a filter system, being either a hang on or in tank bio sponge type. An Air stone, and air pump, minimum of 1 gallon, and preferably larger.
Marbled crayfish are prohibited in the American states of Idaho, Illinois must have a permit, California,Tennessee, and Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri,Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah , Wisconsin, and the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. So no shipping to these states..
