They’re currently in a tank with no filter that contains Java moss. The Java moss helps filter the water while naturally providing oxygen. Make sure the water perimeters are safe for invertebrates, live plants will also help with this issue. Please be aware crayfish do eat live plants so I wouldn’t provide them with expensive plants. In the past we’ve received brutal feedback because of the size of the crayfish even though we state several times how big they are. Please be aware of the size. At this size they’re mostly transparent in color. Also be aware of the species, we never sell dwarf and once again have received negative feedback stating we should have stated they aren’t dwarf. We always provide the species name so you can look up size and care needs. Other negative feedback we have received is stating we sent them an empty bad when in reality we ship a cotton round in the bag with the crayfish for the baby to hang onto. We would never ship an empty bag, never assume so and throw it away. Lastly, the crayfish might be dormant from being in the dark for a few days, give it time to adjust before assuming it’s dead. A dead crayfish will look white with it’s tailed curled and will be incapable of hanging onto the cotton round. Be sure to read up onto how to safely acclimate crayfish before purchasing. Also be sure to be home so the crayfish isn’t sitting in a hot mailbox.
